New Nokia Symbian^3 flagship N8 now official

Its been made official as Nokia’s first Symbian^3 handset, its been boasted as the latest flagship for the Finnish mobile maker’s new and improved Symbian OS.
We’ve covered it before when it was first leaked and spotted last month, however, these are now the finalised and confirmed specs of the finished product…
  • 3.5 inch capacitive multi-touch touchscreen with gesture support
  • Multiple homescreens with widget support
  • 12 megapixel camera with Carl Zeiss optics and Xenon Flash
  • HD recording and on-phone editing
  • Facebook and Twitter integration via homescreen widgets
  • HDMI support
  • 16GB on board storage
  • WebTV, Ovi Store
  • Ovi maps with walk and drive navigation
  • Symbian S^3
  • Anodized aluminum casing
As you can see, Nokia is quite determined not to aboard the Android bandwagon and instead persist with their own OS, the new Symbian^3. They have boasted the new N8 with some brilliant multimedia features, including 12 megapixel camera and HD video recording, HDMI support and of course, users of the N8 will benefit from Nokia’s free turn by turn navigation – Ovi maps.

If you’re looking to get your hands on the new Symbian^3 flagship from Nokia, you’ll need to be aware that the N8 is not slated to launch until Q3 2010. The N8 will debut in selected global markets with a price tag of €370 ($494 USD).
