Panasonic Toughbook 52 Semi-Rugged Notebook: For the highest screen resolution, customers can choose the 2.4GHz Intel Core 2 Duo variant with a 15.4-inch 1920 by 1200 pixel LCD and an ATI Radeon HD 3650 GPU. The 2.26GHz Core 2 Duo model is available with a 1280 by 800 pixel LCD, or the 1024 by 768 touchscreen, with an Intel GMA 4500MHD video controller. RAM options have been expanded to include up to 4GB, while the notebooks provide a shock-mounted 160GB hard drive.
Adding an option for a 13.3-inch touchscreen LCD. The new display could prove suitable for outdoor use, featuring 1000 nit brightness combined with an anti-glare and anti-reflective surface. The company claims battery life up to 8 hours with the touchscreen, while the standard 15.4-inch variant will provide 7 hours of life with the P8400 CPU or 4 hours running the P8600.
The sunlight-viewable option also features an integrated stylus holder and an adjustable overhead keyboard light with four brightness levels for low-light conditions, along with a red LED light that helps preserve the eye’s natural light sensitivity at night. The Toughbook 52 is now available, with prices starting at $1700 and rising to $2550 with the touchscreen.
